Our university has one Olympic-standard indoor pool and one outdoor pool. Since 1992, our indoor swimming pool—serving METU students, staff, alumni, and guest users—has complied with International Swimming Federation (FINA) norms. It features eight Olympic-standard lanes (with an option to expand to 20 lanes), measures 21 m in width, 50 m in length, and 2.20 m in depth, and accommodates 500 spectators. Each of the men’s and women’s locker rooms contains 106 lockers and 11 showers. The indoor pool is open every day (except Mondays) from 09:00 to 19:15 for general users and from 19:15 to 22:30 for teams and groups. Both pools—opened in 2016—include accessible changing rooms and an elevator for users with disabilities.
